  • Senior Honors Thesis: Toughening Polylactide with Soybean Oil

    The objective of this research project was to increase the toughness of a commercially-viable green thermoplastic, polylactide (PLA). To meet this objective, PLA was blended with vegetable oils and their derivatives to create a tough, biodegradable and sustainable plastic to replace petroleum-derived plastics.
